Dendros Manure Worms (Dendrobaena veneta), large size (between 6 and 10 cm), average weight per worm 1.7g, reddish/brown colour with stripes, no babies or larvae included.
Every order is carefully prepared: the worms are sorted and packed on the day of dispatch to ensure their freshness, vitality, and excellent condition on arrival. The worms are weighed, not counted.
Moutta Farm opts for generous, high-quality packaging. Each box contains sorted and weighed worms, with a quantity of substrate added equal to double their weight.
This bedding, developed on our farm, recreates an ideal biotope for their wellbeing and longevity.
This attention to preparation and packing ensures robust, active worms that are ready to use, for fishing or as animal feed.
Fishing bait:
The dendro worm is versatile and highly sought after as fishing bait. Its large size, robustness and liveliness make it a great choice for many fish species such as eel, barbel, bream, carp, chub, roach, grayling, perch, catfish, rudd, tench and trout.
They stay well on the hook and are suitable for river, lake, or pond fishing.
Animal feed:
Dendro worms can also be used to feed some reptiles and amphibians, including Litoria frogs, Tiliqua lizards and Thamnophis snakes.
Some insectivorous or omnivorous birds, such as hens, ducks or pigeons, will also benefit from worms as a dietary supplement.
Because of their size and nutritional value, they are a suitable food source for many insectivorous or omnivorous species.
Your worms are packed in a box or a micro-perforated bag, allowing good aeration while maintaining the right moisture level.
Keeping your worms:
On arrival, it’s advisable to keep the box in a cool place, such as a cellar or the bottom of a fridge.
Kept like this, your worms will remain healthy for several weeks. To keep them lively, we recommend feeding them our special protein feed twice a week, just a light sprinkle and a little water to maintain moderate humidity.
If you wish to keep them for several months, simply change the bedding approximately once a month, using our substrate or some coco fibre.
