Aegir is a 100% natural source of lime, made from shell fragments from the North Sea. Rich in calcium carbonate (96.1% CaCO₃), it gradually and sustainably increases soil pH without shocking soil microbiology.
Thanks to its coarse structure, calcium is released slowly, providing a long-lasting buffering effect (up to 3 years) and natural stabilisation of soil acidity. Alongside calcium, Aegir supplies a wide range of minerals and trace elements beneficial to soil fertility and structure.
✔ Suitable for use in Organic Agriculture

A balanced pH allows for:
- Improved nutrient uptake
- Optimal microbial activity
- Increased fertility
- Enduring yield improvements
Recommended rates
-
Maintenance liming:
500 kg per hectare every 3 years.
-
Acidic soil (correction):
1,000 kg per hectare (single application first year).
-
Small areas:
3 kg for 60 m².
About 1 kg for 10 m².
-
Suggested programme (complete soil improvement) for 10 m²:
1 kg of Aegir.
1 kg of Edasil.
