Edasil® is a natural mineral soil amendment made from montmorillonite, a clay mineral from the bentonite group renowned for its exceptional absorption and binding capacity.
Thanks to its structure of fine, negatively charged plates, montmorillonite has a very high cation exchange capacity (CEC), allowing it to bind essential nutrients (calcium, magnesium, potassium, sodium, ammonium…) and gradually release them to plants as needed.
Edasil sustainably improves soil fertility, limits nutrient leaching and optimises moisture management.
✔ Suitable for Organic Farming (compliant with EU regulations)
Benefits
- Improves soil structure.
- Increases cation exchange capacity (CEC).
- Binds and slowly releases nutrients.
- Reduces leaching and mineral losses.
- Better water retention, especially in sandy soils.
- Actively supports soil microbial life.
- Positive influence in dry or excessively wet periods.
Applications
✔ Soil improvement
Edasil forms, with humus, the clay-humus complex, the foundation of soil fertility.
Acts as a powerful ionic buffer, storing nutrients and releasing them when plants need them.
✔ Moisture management
Its swelling capacity allows it to hold significant amounts of water – particularly beneficial for light, sandy soils.
