Uses – Recommended dosages
- For a small pond of 6,000 L: dilute 1 L of EM® Photo+.
- For larger volumes, adjust the dosage proportionally and split into several spaced applications.
- If algae persist, repeat treatment 3–4 times per year depending on the amount of algae.

Usage tips
For standard water treatment:
- Dilute 0.5 L of EM® Photo+ with 10 L of Microferm per 10,000 L of water annually.
- For intensive treatment or severe algae bloom, increase the application frequency rather than the dose.
- The annual amount can be split into monthly doses for optimal results from March to November.
- Keeping the water gently moving helps microorganisms distribute evenly.
For best effectiveness, EM® Photo+ is recommended in combination with Microferm, depending on the water type and algae development. Regular but moderate addition ensures long-term control of algae while maintaining ecosystem balance.
For a complete pond treatment, combine EM® Photo+ with:
- Bokashi Balls: 1 to 2 balls per m² to reduce sludge (repeat each year, preferably in winter).
- EM® Photo+ + Microferm: 0.5 L of Photo+ + 10 L of Microferm / 10,000 L of water / year for treating green water and algae.
