EM® Photo+ Aquabiome is an innovative solution based on specific phototrophic micro-organisms from the EM® group, designed to regulate the development and growth of algae in ponds, water features, lakes, and other bodies of water.
These micro-organisms consume nutrients such as phosphates, nitrites and ammonium, directly competing with algae and sustainably limiting their proliferation.
Thanks to its unique composition, EM® Photo+ works efficiently in varied conditions – whether the water is rich or poor in oxygen, and with or without light. The product helps to maintain a lasting ecological balance and keep the water clear and healthy.

Uses – Recommended dosages
- For a small pond of 6,000 L: dilute 1 L of EM® Photo+.
- For larger volumes, adjust the dosage proportionally and opt for several spaced applications.
- If algae persist, repeat treatment 3 to 4 times a year, depending on quantity of algae.

Directions for use
For standard pond treatment:
- Recommended annual dosage: dilute 0.5 L EM® Photo+ with 10 L Microferm per 10,000 L of water.
- For intensive treatment or heavy algae growth, it’s best to increase the frequency rather than the dose.
- You may split the annual amount into monthly applications for optimal results from March to November.
- A slight movement of the water helps evenly distribute the microorganisms.
For optimal effectiveness, EM® Photo+ is recommended in combination with Microferm, depending on your pond type and algae development. A regular but moderate input ensures long-term algae control whilst preserving the water ecosystem’s natural balance.
For complete pond treatment, combine EM® Photo+ with:
- Bokashi Balls: 1 to 2 balls per m² to reduce sludge (repeat every year, ideally in winter).
- EM® Photo+ + Microferm: 0.5 L Photo+ + 10 L Microferm / 10,000 L water / year to treat green water and algae.
