Vulkamin® is a basaltic volcanic rock powder, 100% natural, renowned for its exceptional absorbency. Rich in minerals and trace elements, it durably improves the quality of bedding and helps create a healthier environment for animals.

Vulkamin - Basaltic volcanic rock powder for animal bedding

Made from finely ground prehistoric rock, this volcanic powder acts as a natural regulator of moisture and emissions in barns, stalls and deep bedding. It is naturally gentler than lime and less harsh on skin, mucous membranes and cow udders.

Thanks to its high binding power, Vulkamin® captures ammonia and other nitrogen compounds (nitrates, nitrites, phosphates), thus limiting harmful emissions and unpleasant odours. The stalls remain drier, the air is fresher and fly presence is reduced.

Advantages

  • Very high moisture absorption capacity;
  • Binds ammonia and strongly limits odours;
  • Reduces the formation of nitrates and nitrites;
  • Healthier atmosphere and fewer flies;
  • Beneficial effect on hooves and claws;
  • No nitrogen evaporation unlike lime;
  • Enriches manure and soil with minerals and trace elements
  • Helps improve soil fertility.

Its natural disinfecting effect also helps maintain healthy hooves and claws. By reducing humidity and irritant substances, it prevents respiratory and foot problems.

Vulkamin® is the ideal natural mineral solution to improve animal comfort, freshen livestock buildings, and add value to manure while respecting soil balance.

Usage

Vulkamin® is applied by hand spreading, directly over damp areas in the bedding, as a supplement to straw, flax or sawdust.

It suits both standard stalls and mat or deep bedding systems.

Indicative dose:
Approximately 250 g per m² per week, with regular use year-round.

For a stall of about 9 to 12 m²:
2 × 750 g per week depending on humidity levels.

With Microferm:
Prepare a 5% solution: 5 L Microferm for 100 L water.
Spray 1.5 L of this solution in the stable 3 times per week (equivalent to 65 ml Microferm diluted in 1.5 L water).

When Vulkamin®-enriched bedding reaches the manure heap, it continues to work: ammonia is retained, nitrogen evaporation is limited and the manure is enriched with essential minerals such as iron, calcium, magnesium, potassium as well as trace elements like silicon, zinc or titanium. The manure thus becomes a richer and more balanced amendment for agricultural soils and pastures.

Completely non-toxic, Vulkamin® can be safely used in cattle, equine, sheep, goat, poultry or rabbit farms.
