EM® Clean is a cleaning product based on Effective Micro-organisms (EM®) technology: it contains live lactic acid bacteria and yeasts, which stay on surfaces after cleaning.

EM® Clean - cleaner with Effective Micro-organisms

Unlike conventional detergents, EM® Clean contains live fermentation micro-organisms: they stay on surfaces after cleaning and help to limit bad odours.

Certified A+ for indoor air quality, it emits very little and is suitable for sensitive individuals. The micro-organisms used are not genetically modified.

EM-1 Micro-organisms

EM® Clean can be used everywhere, at home and at work, and outdoors too.

General dilution instructions:

Dilute 1% to 10% in cold or slightly lukewarm non-chlorinated water.
(Example: 10 cl product + 90 cl water for a 10% solution.)

Home Cleaning

  • Floors: 50 ml for 10 L of water – do not rinse;
  • Windows: 1 to 5%;
  • Surfaces (kitchen, bathroom, furniture, tiles, stainless steel, lacquered wood…): 5 to 10%;
  • Washing machine: 10 to 30 ml instead of softener;
  • Dishwasher: as a substitute for rinse aid.

Spray, leave for 2–3 minutes, wipe. Does not foam. No need to rinse: the effect continues after drying.

Outdoor use

Terraces, garden furniture, cars, tools, poolside, pressure washers.

Animals

  • Washing (1% dilution): protects and regenerates the skin flora;
  • Kennels, stables, bedding: cleans and limits odours;
  • Equestrian equipment: mats and blankets may be soaked.

Specific applications

  • Beehive care;
  • Compatible with septic tanks and drainage systems;
  • Wash water can be used for watering plants.

No, EM Clean is a cleaner, not a disinfectant. Its micro-organisms (lactic acid bacteria, yeasts) settle on surfaces after cleaning and, according to the manufacturer, help reduce unpleasant odours. Where disinfection is needed, use a suitable product, but never mix it with EM Clean and do not apply one straight after the other: bleach and disinfectants destroy its micro-organisms.

In a Bag-in-Box, EM Clean concentrate keeps for up to 1 year after opening: the bag limits contact with air. It is available from 2 to 250 litres, in three scents: classic (neutral), holy basil and mint. Once diluted, use it promptly. Slight variations in smell or colour from one batch to another are normal for a fermented product.

Dilute EM Clean at 1 to 10% in cold or lukewarm water, preferably unchlorinated: for example, 100 ml of product to 900 ml of water for a 10% solution. Guidelines from our product page:

  • floors: 50 ml per 10 L of water (i.e. 0.5%);
  • windows: 1 to 5%;
  • kitchen, bathroom and toilet, furniture, tiles, stainless steel: 5 to 10%;
  • washing machine: 10 to 30 ml instead of fabric softener;
  • dishwasher: instead of rinse aid.

No. Spray, leave for 2 to 3 minutes, then wipe: EM Clean does not foam and needs no rinsing. The micro-organisms remain on the surface once dry. You can even use the cleaning water to water your plants. It can also be used outdoors: patio, garden furniture, car, tools.

Yes. According to the manufacturer, it is safe for septic tanks and drainage systems. Cleaning your toilet with EM Clean even adds a little EM to the tank with every flush, as recommended on our Microferm product page. For dry toilets and litter trays, the EM Clean deodoriser spray is a handy addition.
